RC Robotics Team Headed to World Championship

The RC Robotics team ARC 6014 participated in the Bosphorus Regional Competition on March 5-7, 2019. At this event the team produced a high-quality robot, and also won the Engineering Inspiration Award, presented to the team that widely advances appreciation for engineering, science and technology within the community. As recipient of this award, the team qualified for the World Championship that will take place again in Houston later this year.

In addition, at this regional competition, the team captain Enes Arda Özgür L11 won the Dean's List Award given to effective and dedicated student leaders, and qualified for the final rounds in Houston.

As a major part of the six-week preparation process coincided with finals and the semester break, the team members sacrificed their vacations to work day and night to build their robot and to finalize their projects. Some of the projects that made an impact on their nomination for the award include Braille menus, toy boxes that they designed to introduce young children to engineering, and educational programs for teaching coding to middle school kids in Anatolia.

The students designed their entire robot themselves, using SolidWorks, and constructed the original pieces on a 3D printer.
